A fighter aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force crashed at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Monday.
Flight Lt Muntasim, the lone pilot of the aircraft A-5, was injured when he jumped off the aircraft by parachute, our correspondent in Chittagong reported.
He was admitted to air force hospital in Patenga.
The incident occurred around 12:20pm when the aircraft was landing on the runway of the airport after a training session.
A fighter aircraft crashed seconds before touching down the ground when its rear wheel caught fire, said Joynal Abedin, acting manager of the airport.
Later, the fire spread through the entire aircraft, the manager said adding that the airport authorities managed to douse the blaze within few minutes.

This is happening more frequently and there should be an investigation
