MONTREAL — Passengers on Delta flight 3983 will be a little late getting to Atlanta after their plane was forced to return to the Montreal airport.
The flight took off at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday but once airborne, the crew detected the smell of smoke and the pilot received permission to make an emergency return to Trudeau Airport.
Once on the ground, emergency trucks and personnel swarmed the plane.
When no fire was found, the plane returned to the terminal. It was rescheduled for takeoff at 9:15 a.m.
