Emergency crews were dispatched around 11AM Wednesday morning to a plane crash in Yancey County.
Dispatchers say it happened at a private landing strip in the Mountain Air County Club community.
We are told two were transported, but don’t have any information on what their injuries are at this point.
News 13 has a crew on scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
The attached photo, sent in by a viewer, shows the West Yancey County Fire Department working the scene. We’re told both the Clearmont Fire Department and the Burnsville Fire Department assisted.
Other news: Small plane crashes off runway at private NC country club
BURNSVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) – A small plane crashed as it ran off the runway at a western North Carolina country club Wednesday morning, according to county officials.
A spokesman with Yancey County Emergency Management said the plane was taking off from Mountain Air Country Club’s private airstrip when it crashed a few minutes after 10 a.m.
He said two people onboard the plane were injured, but the injuries were not considered serious.
The club is located near Burnsville, atop Slickrock Mountain.
