Fort Worth-based American says the flight completed its delayed journey to Sacramento International Airport.
The MD-80 was bound from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Thursday night when the captain diverted to Lubbock.
A warning light indicated a possible clogged engine oil filter.
