ONTARIO (WPBN/WGTU)– A plane connected to a missing persons case in Michigan has crashed in northern Ontario, authorities say.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says the wreckage of a Cessna 172 aircraft was found around 15 miles east of Manitouwadge, Ontario.
At this time, it is unclear when the plane crashed.
Details are limited, but the TSB says the aircraft departed from Ann Arbor. Its intended destination is not known at this time.
The TSB says investigators could not find anyone in or near the wreckage.
The TSB says the plane was rented out of Ann Arbor and it’s related to a missing persons case being handled by the Michigan State Police and the University of Michigan Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
