An airplane landing at the Furnace Creek Airport ran off the end of the runway and flipped over Friday morning.
The pilot, the only occupant, was uninjured but was extricated from the airplane by National Park Service emergency crews.
The Cessna airplane was attempting to land at 9:20 a.m.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
One of the runways was temporarily closed as a result of the crash.
