A man, believed to be in his 20s, sustained serious head injuries when a light aircraft crashed in Potchefstroom on Saturday afternoon, North West paramedics said.
At the time of their arrival ER24 paramedics found the man inside the aircraft that crashed about 80 to 100 metres from the runway at Potchefstroom airfield, ER24 spokesperson Annine Dormehl said.
“The patient had to be extracted from the plane and he was then transported to Mediclinic Potchefstroom for further treatment. Local authorities will be conducting an investigation into this incident,” Dormehl said.
