Alaska Airlines flight makes emergency landing Sunday morning. Modesto Fire reported that the plane was inbound with reports of a fire in the cargo area and 62 souls on board.
5 engines, 2 trucks and 2 airport crash rigs responded. The plane landed safely at 6:50 am and no smoke or fire was visible on the outside.
Firefighters checked inside the plane with thermal imaging cameras and received a positive heat signal.
The plane’s fire extinguishment system had activated. The cargo area was checked on the runway and no visible fire was found.
The plane was then moved to the terminal where all passengers were safely off-loaded. Modesto Fire reported that the plane had departed from Sacramento and was enroute to San Diego

This is happening more frequently and there should be an investigation
