BANNING, Calif. – A 24-year-old man has been arrested on drug charges after crashing a small plane at the Banning Municipal Airport on Monday, officials announced Thursday.

Deputies said Alex Furman of Corona was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities haven’t released many details at this point.

More details are expected as the investigation unfolds, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

BANNING, Calif. – The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a plane crash at the Banning Municipal Airport Monday afternoon.

According to Ian Gregor, Public Affairs Manager for the FAA Pacific Division, a Cessna 210 landed hard at the Banning Municipal Airport at around 1:40PM.

The plane hit a fence and tipped on its nose. The pilot was not seriously injured, according to Gregor.

FAA inspectors are on the way to the scene if they’re not already there.
