No significant injuries were reported in the emergency landing of a vintage Navy training craft in a Charlotte County cow pasture Saturday afternoon.
Charlotte County deputies responded shortly after 5 p.m. to the field about a half-mile north northwest of the Punta Gorda Airport after a SNJ5 Navy trainer lost power and was unable to make it to the runway.
A report from the CCSO said the pilot “did an incredible job of safely belly-landing the aircraft.”
The pilot was uninjured and the copilot suffered only a minor scratch to his arm. The CCSo also reported no cows were injured in the landing.
The FAA is responding for further investigation.
