News Plane incidents — 10 July 2017

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard assisted three people with no injuries Saturday after their aircraft made an emergency landing on Ossabaw Island, Georgia.

Watchstanders in the Coast Guard Sector Charleston Command Center were notified of a Cessna 210 aircrew issuing a mayday call at 9:35 a.m. from Air Traffic Control.

A crew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah, Georgia, launched at 9:52 a.m. to assist the three crewmembers.

The helicopter crew landed on the beach at 10:09 a.m., embarked all three people and transported them to the air station.
