News Plane incidents — 18 September 2017

A pilot walked away unhurt after an emergency landing in a field near Port Hope Saturday.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Oak Hill Road, where the single-prop plane came to rest with damage to a wing and its front shroud.

The pilot told police the plane lost power.

Damage to the wing. A pilot managed to walk away after making an emergency landing in a field off of Cold Springs Camp Road (near the Durham Region border) on Saturday September 16, 2017 shortly after 6 p.m. in Port Hope, Ont. The pilot safely landed without power on a grassy field on Oak Hill Road. Emergency services responded to the area and once the man was checked over by paramedics he was released from the ambulance. There is no word on why the plane lost power and the plane suffered damage to at least one wing and the front shroud.
