Spotting Aircraft watcher Ralph Valkenier managed to make spectacular images of a plane hit by the lightning at Schiphol Airport.
It is a Boeing 777-300ER of the Dutch airline KLM, during flight KL743 from Amsterdam to Lima.
The plane was just in the air when the lightning suddenly strikes. The moment can be seen in the video below.
Aircraft are normally resistant to the natural phenomenon, though it is undoubtedly the nightmare of any airline passenger.
The flight itself arrived problemlessly in Peru eleven hours later.

This is happening more frequently and there should be an investigation
