Virginia State Police said that a 77-year-old man suffered minor injuries in a plane crash in Hanover Wednesday afternoon.
Virginia State Police said Myers, who is from Mechanicsville, was forced to make an emergency landing after a mechanical issue happened with the engine.
The incident happened near the intersection of River Road and Williamsville Road in Hanover County.
In the course of the landing, the plane sustained significant damage before coming to rest upside down in a field.
Myers was treated for his injuries at the scene.
The FAA was notified and responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
