A PILOT was lucky to escape serious injury when his light aircraft ended up on its roof in a paddock near Murray Bridge.
Ambulance crews and SES volunteers were called to the property of Eagle Poultry on Monarto Rd about 10.20am on Sunday after reports a plane had crashed.
The pilot, who was the only person on board the Skyfox ultralight plane, was helped from the aircraft, which remained intact but on its roof.
He was taken to Murray Bridge Hospital with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
The crash will be the subject of an investigation by Recreational Aviation Australia, which will examine whether mechanical issues contributed to the incident.
SES crews and CFS volunteers remained at the scene for some time to ensure stubble in the paddock did not ignite.
The pilot could not be contacted for comment
