TUCSON, Ariz. – A private plane from Mexico made an emergency landing on the wrong runway at Tucson International Airport.
The pilot of the Learjet checked in with the TIA control tower around 8:25 a.m. to say he was approaching Runway 11L, according to Ian Gregor, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration.
The control tower gave the pilot permission to land on Runway 11L. However, the pilot landed on a taxiway running parallel to the runway.
The FAA is currently investigating the incident.
