A plane carrying passengers headed to San Diego was forced to make an emergency landing at LAX Friday night.
United flight 459 was scheduled to land at Lindbergh Field at 8:30 p.m., but something went wrong in the air.
A United spokeswoman would only say the plane had a mechanical issue and the flight was diverted to LAX where it landed around 8:33 p.m. She said the passengers were loaded onto a different plane to complete their trip to San Diego Friday night.
10News was there as the passengers arrived shortly after 11 p.m. One passenger, who wished to remain off camera, told that there was “some type of hydraulic fluid leak” and the landing was a precaution taken by the pilots.
